Mads Vestergaard/Christine Busch (Denmark; seeded 8) won their quarterfinal match 21-11, 21-18 against Alexander Dunn/Julie MacPherson (Scotland).

Mads Vestergaard: “This is our first time in the semifinals and we are happy with the level we are playing at here. All of our matches so far have been clear-cut, so we have been able to save a lot of energy for tomorrow.”

Toma Junior Popov (France; seed 6) defeated Japan’s Minoru Koga 21-13, 19-21, 21-19 in the quarterfinals.

Toma Junior Popov: “I’m happy and relieved. We pushed each other to the limit. It’s great to play here.”

Christo Popov (France; seed 1) recorded a 21-18, 21-17 victory over Ng Ka Long Angus (Hong Kong), who won the tournament in 2023, in the quarterfinals of the men’s singles competition.

Christo Popov: “I am very relieved, those were two tough sets. I knew it was going to be a tough match, and in the end I could feel every rally in my legs. So I’m very happy that I won in two sets. The atmosphere was great! It’s fantastic that we’re both in the semifinals. My brother and I will now recover as best we can.”

In Women’s Singles Line Christophersen (Denmark) lost to top-seeded Chinese player Wang Zhi Yi 14-21, 19-21.

Line Christophersen: “I’m a little disappointed at the moment, but it was definitely a good match. I had my chances, but she just plays very well. The atmosphere is really great. There are so many spectators here!”
