Li Shi Feng already out of the tournament

Big surprise in Men’s Singles: China’s Li Shi Feng, seeded number two, was eliminated in the first round of the main tournament. The world number six, who reached the semi-finals at the YONEX All England Open Badminton Championships and the YONEX French Open last year, lost to Japan’s Minoru Koga (world number 63) 16-21, 15-21.

The tournament is also over after just one match for two-time YONEX German Open winner Chou Tien Chen (Taiwan): The world number seven, seeded third, lost his opening match against Ireland’s Nhat Nguyen (world number 29) 11-21, 21-11, 16-21.
