A lot of action on the first tournament day

The YONEX German Open 2026 saw a lot of action on the first tournament day – and not many suprises.

Among others Christo and Toma Junior Popov (FRA), Aaron Chia/Soo Wooi Yik (MAS), Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen (DEN) and Gabriela and Stefani Stoeva (BUL) reached the second round. The only seeded players who lost their first match in the Main Draw were Margot Lambert/Camille Pognante (FRA; seed no. 7) and Yeung Nga Ting/Yeung Pui Lam (HKG; seed no. 4), both in Women’s Doubles.

From Germany, Miranda Wilson in Women’s Singles and Malik Bourakkadi/Kenneth Neumann (Photo; by Claudia Pauli) in Men’s Doubles secured a place in the Main Draw.
